	An important part of the Housing Element document is the identification of land available for future development. For the 2002-2008 time period, the County intends to direct growth primarily to the seven five Community Areas (Fort Ord, Rancho San Juan, Boronda, Castroville, Pajaro, Pine Canyon and Chualar San Lucas). As discussed in more detail in this chapter, pPlanning for growth of San Lucas and Pine Canyon Chualar is intended to occur after planning for growth of the other five four Community Areas, and is not essential to meeting the County’s Regional Housing Need Allocation.
