No on Measures A, B
Regarding the measures on the June 5 ballot: What is at stake are
our private property rights.
LandWatch and proponents of Measure A forget that our Constitution
guarantees that we are free to exercise control over what we own. We
all understand and accept standard zoning laws, but some have
decided they alone should dictate land use for 97 percent of our
county's land mass. That is socialism and an affront to
freedom-loving Americans.
Agriculture, business, industry and housing concerns have not been
adequately addressed in Measure A, and the citizens who have tried
to have their needs addressed have been demonized. Upstanding
citizens whose families have supported charities for generations
have been called greedy land barons with no consideration for the
environment. This is just not
true.
Measure A is unfair and doesn't allow each area to have a say in
their surroundings. Measure A will have no effect on acreage in the
Coastal Plan area, yet voters on the coast will have a say on what
happens in
Salinas Valley.
GPU4 will meet the needs of our diverse population. Improvements
will proceed with development in an orderly fashion.
Don't deprive property owners their property rights.
Vote "no" on A, B; "yes" on C, D.
