No on Measure A
Margie Kay accurately represented that I was supporting GPU4 at the
April 10 KION-TV debate, "Fight for the Future."
What she failed to state is GPU4 is the general plan recommended by
an 8-2 majority of the Planning Commission and approved by the Board
of Supervisors, 4-1.
GPU4 is the plan adopted by the county.
I will continue to support and advocate for GPU4 until June 6, just
as Board of Supervisors chairman Dave Potter supports and advocates
for the LandWatch Initiative, Measure A. I know, come June 6,
Supervisor Potter and myself as planning commissioner will both
uphold whichever plan is put into place, and will continue to fairly
represent the people's best interest in accordance with adopted
laws.
Because Kay believes government has consistently degraded the public
trust, she should work hard to replace her elected representatives
rather than support a measure where even her recently approved
development project would require a countywide vote.
Measure A threatens the future of Monterey County.
Vote "no" on Measure A.
