No on A
Measure A is the biggest farce ever foisted on the people of
Monterey County. I just bought a new house because the state took
mine for the overpass at Crazy Horse Canyon Road and Echo Valley
Road. When I bought
the new house it had a conservation easement. I thought, "What could
it hurt?" I find after I bought the house with the easement, the
property could not be
touched. I could not build anything within 100 feet of the easement.
I still have to pay taxes on it because it's part of my property but
it's useless to me.
This is what Measure A will do for the property owners of this
county. You will continue paying taxes on the property but you will
be unable to build anything on it unless it's put to a vote of the
people.
The Yes on Measure A people are using lowdown ads claiming all the
supervisors are less than honest and real estate people and builders
are against the measure for selfish reasons.
Why are the Measure A people trying to force this on Monterey County
if not for selfish reasons?
I'm ashamed of the way the Measure A people are advertising the
measure. It's like they are right, everyone else is wrong and all
rich people are bad.
I have lived on Echo Valley Road for 57 years and never once did I
build anything that all the people of Monterey County had to vote
on.
Consider the enormity of what Measure A will do to anyone who owns
land in Monterey County and vote "no" on Measure A.
