No on Measure A
Regardless of how people vote on Measure A, they should know the
truth.
First, the Community General Plan Initiative (Measure
A) was not written by the public, had no public input and no
environmental review. It was written behind closed doors by two
out-of-county lawyers.
Measure A is not the Community General Plan Initiative. These are
two entirely different documents. Check the Internet. Measure A
backers deceive the public by saying it was written by the public.
It was not.
Second, the League of Women Voters is not impartial.
Janet Brennan, League president-elect, sits on the LandWatch board
of directors (a major Measure A backer), as do other League members.
It shameful for the League, which should be impartial, to be
promoting its directors' political agenda.
These two undeniable deceptions by Measure A supporters are reason
alone to vote "no" on A. If Measure A passes, it will be out with
the truth and in with 30-second political sound bites at the ballot
box," governing our land-use decisions for the next 25 years.
The public deserves better. For this reason, I am voting "no" on
Measure A.
