Difficult to modify

Twenty-five years ago, you probably had not yet seen a personal computer and were listening to records or that new technology called cassette tapes. You might have been thinking of purchasing your first VCR and you had not yet heard of CDs, DVDs, plasma TV, HDTV or cell phones. There has been a lot of change in 25 years.

However flawed a general plan might be, it might be acceptable as long as there is a rational process to modify it over its lifetime.

Surprisingly, Measure A has only one way to amend, and that is by a countywide vote. This process is not readily available to the regular citizen or the individual property owner, because it is expensive.
Also, this process will deal with parcels on a piecemeal basis. Measure A will make it very difficult to treat everyone fairly. Measure A will make it tough to embrace new technology, and to adapt to the coming green economy.

I urge you to vote no on A and no on B.
