As a lifelong resident of Monterey County, I have a problem with the inflexibility of Measure A. Section 2 of page 2 says, "No provision of this initiative measure shall be changed, amended, or repealed except
by a vote of the people." It goes on to say, "This initiative measure shall remain in effect for 25 years from the date that this initiative measure becomes effective."

How arrogant to think we know what residents of Monterey County will need in 20 years or even 10 years. Every amendment or change will have to go to a
vote of the people. If you're confused by this issue, just think about the confusion every time we have to vote on an amendment to this measure to help the people of Monterey County for the next 25 years. I encourage you to learn the facts for yourself and vote No on Measure A.
