No flexibility

As a concerned citizen and member of the Monterey County community for over 20 years, I have been following the progress of the GPU4 and Measure A. What concerns me most about Measure A is its seeming complete lack of flexibility.

Coming from a business background, I know that any plan has to be a living document. Communities, like businesses, grow and change, and our ability to support them has to do the same. Measure A, however, written by out-of-town lawyers without public hearings, has set regulations in place without change for 20 years.

If you look at the changes that have occurred in our communities over the last 25 years and appreciate that the rate of change is accelerating, how can we support anything that inhibits our ability to adapt?

Please, vote no on Measure A.
