LandWatch propaganda
The effort of LandWatch to characterize the Board of Supervisors as
pawns of developers is a desperate attempt to pass Measure A at any
cost. Last week LandWatch issued a study by the Taffe Public
Strategies Co. showing that the supervisors had contributions from
"development interests." Obviously, this showed that the system was
corrupt and we can't trust them to govern us. But who are those
"development interests?"
This company defined them as anybody affiliated with organizations
such as banks, insurance companies, farmers, ranchers, hotels,
utilities, chain retailers, gas stations, landlords, planners,
agricultural landowners and trade unions.
In trying to explain
this study, Chris Fitz of LandWatch said they picked occupations
that may be against a "progressive plan."
In other words, if you
are not for Measure A, then you are part of "development interests."
What gives LandWatch the right to mislead the public and the press
in such a convoluted fashion?
One of the listed categories was land-use attorneys.
By that definition, the
attorneys who wrote Measure A are both developers!
Don't believe the LandWatch propaganda. Vote no on A.
