Twisted semantics
Regardless of how people vote on Measure A, they should know the
truth.
First, the General Plan Initiative (Measure A) was not written by
the public, had no public input and no environmental review. It was
written behind closed doors by two out-of-county lawyers. Measure A,
the so-called Community General Plan Initiative, is not the
Community General Plan. These are two entirely different documents
(check the Internet to confirm).
Measure A backers are deceiving the public by saying Measure A was
written by the public.
Second, the League of Women Voters is not impartial.
Janet Brennan, league
president-elect, sits on the LandWatch board (major Measure A
backer), as do other league members. It is shameful for the league,
which should be impartial, to be promoting its director's political
agendas.
If Measure A passes, it will be out with the truth and in with
30-second political sound bites at the "ballot box" governing our
land-use decisions for next 25 years. For this reason alone, I am
voting "No" on Measure A.
